As Butte College gears up for the start of the fall semester on Monday, August 26, the excitement is felt across campus. The college is ready to welcome new and returning students to its campuses with a robust lineup of events designed to engage and connect the student community.
This year's welcome weeks will kick off with the “All-Student Welcome” on August 26 and 27, where students can gather on the Campus Center Lawn from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to meet peers, learn about campus resources, get some food, and enjoy a festive atmosphere.
"Ask Me" booths will be stationed across campus from August 26-29 to provide students with guidance and information. Additional events like the "Cheddar Up with Financial Aid" on August 28, the "Scoop Troops" ice cream social, and the "Find Your Community Fair" on September 4, offer students numerous opportunities to connect with campus services, clubs, and each other. Welcome events are also hosted at the Glenn County and Chico Centers, ensuring all Butte College students feel connected.
In the following weeks, events like “Donuts with the Dean,” the “Find Your Community Fair,” and “Piñata & Paletas con CASA” offer students plenty of opportunities to build community and connect with peers. A full list of campus events can be found at miyao2009.com/calendars.
Amid this excitement, Butte College has another reason to celebrate. The college is experiencing a continued increase in enrollment. After finishing the 2023–24 school year with a 10 percent increase over the previous year, the college is seeing an additional 12 percent increase in enrollments and a 10 percent boost in headcount for fall 2024. This growth reflects students’ readiness to continue their education and the college’s efforts to reduce enrollment barriers, create flexible schedules, and expand impacted programs.
Faculty and staff are eager to welcome new and returning students to campus.
